Amazon.com has the Denon S-32 Internet Radio with Built-in Speakers and 2-Alarm Clock for $129 with free shipping and handling. That’s a savings of over 70% versus MSRP (and matches a deal from Amazon in the first week in August). It’s lowest price available for this now discontinued unit.

Denon AVR-990 (almost identical to AVR-3310CI) Multi-Zone 7.1 Channel Home Theater Receiver for $699 with free S&H at J&R Music World

J&R Music World has the Denon AVR-990 Multi-Zone 7.1 Channel Home Theater Receivericon for $699 with free shipping and handling. That’s the lowest price available by at least $100, and over 45% off MSRP. As noted in the article by cnet, the AVR-990 is functionally equivalent to the AVR-3310CI (the CI designating that it is nominally designed for “custom installations”). The review from digitaltrends also indicates that this model is essentially the same as the AVR-3310CI (which is currently selling for $800+ elsewhere).

Amazon has available for pre-order the new Denon D-M38 Micro AM/FM, CD System Featuring USB Input and iPod/iPhone Connectivity for $378.97 with free shipping and handling. That’s the lowest price available by $20. The predecessor model (the D-M37) received excellent reviews (see the 5 star review of the UK version at What Hi Fi?), and has been running low on stock for the past few months — the new model should be shipping soon.

NEW MODEL: Denon AVR-1911 630-watt 7.1-Channel Multi-Zone Home Theater Receiver for $426.89 with free S&H at Electronics-Expo (after coupon “LS0735″)

Electronics-Expo has the Denon AVR-1911 630-watt 7.1-Channel Multi-Zone Home Theater Receiver for $426.89 with free shipping and handling (after coupon “LS0735″). That’s the lowest price available on this newly released model by at least $169. Although this model has yet to be reviewed, I suspect sound quality will be on par with its highly regarded predecessor (the AVR-1910). The AVR-1910 received a 5-star review from What Hi Fi? and was very well liked in a review by Big Picture Big Sound. The review from Cnet was somewhat less enthusiastic.

$40 PRICE DROP: Denon AVR-2310CI 7.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver for $488.98 with free S&H at OneCall.com

OneCall.com has the Denon AVR-2310CI 7.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver to $488.98 with free shipping and handling. That’s a drop of $40+ since my last mention of this product in early May (other sellers through Amazon have dropped the priced as well). You can check out the detailed specs on the Denon website. This model got a 5-star review from What Hi Fi?, which called it “a superb machine for the money.” There’s a more detailed (but equally effusive) review at Trusted Reviews, which concluded:

As you can probably tell, we absolutely love this receiver. And with good reason – it’s packed with features, easy to use and delivers a sensational performance with movies and music, all of which makes that seemingly high price tag suddenly look pretty reasonable.

UPDATED COUPON CODE: Denon AVR-4810CI 9.3 Channel Home Theater Receiver for $1,983 [over $1,000 off MSRP of $2,999] with free S&H at Electronics-Expo (after coupon “LSDA0621″) (expires 7/9)

Electronics-Expo has the Denon AVR-4810CI 9.3 Channel Home Theater Receiver for $1,983 with free shipping and handling (after coupon “LSDA0621″)(expires 7/9). Most of the major reputable retailers are still selling this for close to $3,000. This model sits just below Denon’s top of the line AVR-5308CI, which sells for $5,500. The AVR-4810CI boasts “multi-mono block amp construction” with nine separate channels rated at 140 watts each. Channels can be configured in almost every way possible, from the most complex surround setup or 4 separate stereo zones, and everything in between. It has two separate radio tuners for multi-zone use, including HD radio and Sirius/XM compatibility. It’s also network connected (via built-in Wi Fi or ethernet) for access to internet radio and other digital sources. The reviews from Sound+Vision, Home Theater Magazine, and Home Entertainment Magazine, are all excellent. If you’re in the market for a top notch A/V receiver, this is worth checking out.

TODAY ONLY – $200 PRICE DROP: Denon AVR3310CI 7.1-Channel Multi-Zone Home Theater Receiver for $649 with free S&H at Amazon.com

Amazon has the Denon AVR3310CI 7.1-Channel Multi-Zone Home Theater Receiver with Networking Capability and 1080p HDMI Connectivity for $649 with free shipping and handling. That beats my last mention of this product by almost $200, and is at least $175 better than anywhere else. This model received good marks (8.5/10) in a review from digitaltrends. It also received positive comments in a review by Secrets of Home Theater and High Fidelity. This model falls at the upper end of Denon’s mid-line of home theater receivers, and includes support for all current audio formats and video resolutions. It comes with two remotes for use in separate zones, includes HD radio, and has an ethernet connection for streaming internet radio or other music services (Pandora, Rhapsody, Napster, etc.). Check out Denon’s website for detailed specifications.

Electronics Expo has the Denon AVR-1910 Home Theater Receiver for $311.32 plus $29.99 shipping and handling (after coupon code “EDEALINFO”). It received a 5-star review from What Hi Fi? and was very well liked in review by Big Picture Big Sound. The review from Cnet was somewhat less enthusiastic.

UPDATE – ANOTHER $50 PRICE DROP: Denon ADV-M71 Integrated Progressive-Scan DVD Player and 2.1-Channel Amplifier for $249.99 plus $10.49 S&H at Cos Cob TV & Audio (via Amazon)

Cos Cob TV & Audio (via Amazon) has the Denon ADV-M71 Integrated Progressive-Scan DVD Player and 2.1-Channel Amplifier for $399.99 $299.99 $249.99 plus $10.49 shipping and handling. It’s the only place I could find a new in box (i.e., not refurbished) version of this now discontinued model. This unit sold for $599 when it was introduced circa 2003. It received an excellent review from Gramophone at the time. No blu-ray capability, but this would make a nice office or bedroom system paired with some good bookshelf speakers (perhaps the Jamo C401 2-way cherry color Concert series bookshelf speaker pair which are still selling for $79.88 with free S&H).

UPDATE – $50 PRICE DROP: Denon DVD-3910 Universal DVD/SACD player for $398 [original MSRP $1,500] with free S&H at 6ave.com

6ave.com has the Denon DVD-3910 Universal DVD/SACD player for $398 with free shipping and handling. This player has received rave reviews from Audioholics, Sound+Vision, and Audiophile Audition. DEAL ENDED: Denon RCD-CX1 CD/Super Audio CD Receiver for $1,288.16 with free S&H at Amazon.com

Amazon.com has the Denon RCDCX1 CD/Super Audio CD Receiver for $1,288.16 with free shipping and handling (down another $32 since last week). That’s the lowest price I could find by over $200. Denon seems to keep a tight rein on dealers, so its prices (particularly on the higher end items) are rarely discounted. It’s also $1,100 less than buying the functionally equivalent Denon separates on which this unit is based: the Denon DRA-CX3 Audiophile Stereo AM/FM Tuner/Amplifier currently sells for $1,199 on Amazon, and the Denon DCD-CX3 CD/Super Audio CD Player sells for $1,199 on Amazon. It received praise in this article in Stereophile. Although a combo unit such as this might turn off audiophile purists, the upside is it eliminates the need for a [potentially pricey] pair of interconnects, and is much less obtrusive than multiple components. Paired with some nice speakers, this would make a great system for someone who doesn’t want to agonize over the details of choosing separate components, but wants high end build quality.

Denon AVR-1610 Receiver, ASD-11RK iPod Dock & Klipsch HDT1000 Speakers (Bundle) for $698 with free S&H at 6ave.com

6ave.com has the Denon AVR-1610 Receiver, ASD-11RK iPod Dock & Klipsch HDT1000 Speakers (Bundle) for $698 with free shipping and handling. That beats a similar offer OneCall back in February by $100, and also adds an iPod dock. The receiver sells elsewhere for around $350+, and the lowest price on the speaker set is $529 at OneCall. Any way you add it up, this is an excellent price for this setup.

SOLD OUT: Denon D-M37 (silver) for $332.99 with free S&H at Beach Audio

Beach Audio has the The Denon D-M37SCW in stock for $332.99 with free shipping and handling [Beach Audio also sells this through Amazon Marketplace for $320.43 but charges $31.15 shipping at that price]. It generally runs $399, and this is the lowest price I’ve seen since early February (when Beach Audio was selling it for $12 less before it sold out). This model is ranked as one of the best (See the review from the UK’s What Hi Fi, which selected it for the 2008 all in one Product of the Year Award). Ipod docks made by Denon (sold separately) can be connected. It also plays mp3 or wma files directly from USB flash drives (via a front panel USB port).

Denon AHD7000 Over the Ear Headphones for $616.46 plus $12.95 S&H at Unbeatable Sale (with coupon “Summer”)

Unbeatable Sale has the Denon AHD7000 Over the Ear Headphones for $616.46 plus $12.95 shipping and handling (with coupon “SUMMER”). Even with shipping, that price is still well below the $800 – $1000 being charged by most of the reputable online vendors for this flagship headphone model from Denon. Denon makes available on its website a review from Secrets of Home Theater and High Fidelity which is very positive on these luxurious, mahogany ear-cup phones.

UPDATE: Denon DRA-397 AM/FM Multi Source/Zone Stereo Receiver w/ 80X2 Audiophile Power for $338.30 with free S&H at OneCall (with coupon “CALL4DEAL”) [DRA-697CIHD and DRA-297 also on sale for $719.19 and $254.14, respectively]

OneCall has the Denon DRA-397 XM Ready Stereo Receiver for $338.30 with free shipping and handling (with coupon “CALL4DEAL”)(Coupon expires April 5, 2010 11:59pm PST). That’s at least $20 better than from any other reputable retailer. This model comes with two remotes (for main and second zones), is rated at 80 watts per channel, and has a subwoofer out connection. I’ve had a similar Denon stereo receiver for 24 years, and it still sounds great.
UPDATE: Two other Denon stereo receivers are eligible for this coupon, resulting in lowest available prices for each. The top of the line Denon DRA-697CIHD AM/FM/HD Radio Multi-Zone Stereo Receiver is available for $719.19 with free S&H. That’s almost $180 lower than anywhere else. It adds additional power and an HD radio tuner. Also available is the entry level Denon DRA-297 AM/FM/XM Ready Stereo Receiver for $254.14 with free S&H. Though not quite as low as a deal from PC Rush a month ago (since sold out), it is the lowest currently available by over $40.

Denon AH-D2000 High-Performance Around-Ear Stereo Headphones for $223.99 with free S&H at B&H Photo Video ($15 more at Amazon)

B&H Photo Video has the Denon AH-D2000 High-Performance Around-Ear Stereo Headphones for $223.99 with free shipping and handling. Amazon currently has them for about $15 more (Denon AHD2000 High Performance Over-Ear Headphones). Either price is at least $100 lower than at any other major online retailer. These closed-back headphones received an excellent review from Cnet. They also received a 4-star review from What Hi Fi? (whose only criticism was that they may be “possibly too refined for some people.”) TechRadar’s review gave them a full 5 stars.

Denon D-M37SBK – Micro Stereo System for $349 with free S&H at Abe’s of Maine (after coupon “LOYALTY10″)

Abe’s of Maine has the Denon D-M37SBK – Micro Stereo System for $349 with free shipping and handling (after coupon “LOYALTY10″). They are also including a 3 year warranty with purchase (which would otherwise cost $79). That’s the best price and longest warranty I could find at any of the major/reputable retailers (this model usually sells for close to its list price of $399). This system earned a five-star review from What Hi Fi?

Denon AVR-3310CI A/V Receiver & Kef KHT2005.3BL Home Theater System (Bundle) for $1643 with free S&H at 6ave.com

6ave.com has the Denon AVR-3310CI A/V Receiver & Kef KHT2005.3BL Home Theater System (Bundle) for $1643 with free shipping and handling. That’s $956 off retail price, and at least $450 lower than I could find buying the receiver and speakers at the best prices available elsewhere. The speakers run at least $1,100 (and I can’t even vouch for the merchants who were selling them at that price) and the receiver is close to $1,300 everywhere (with some less well known merchants sell it for $1,000). Both are reputable brands known for making good quality products. If you prefer to buy through Amazon Marketplace (though still from 6ave.com), use this link: Denon AVR-3310CI A/V Receiver & Kef KHT2005.3BL Home Theater System (Bundle)

Denon DRA-397P – XM-Ready Multi-Zone AM/FM Receiver for $359.95 with free S&H

B&H Photo Video has the Denon DRA-397P – XM-Ready Multi-Zone AM/FM Receiver for $359.95 with free shipping and handling. This is the “professional” version of the DRA-397 (hence the “P” at the end of the model number). Except for the “professional” designation, the receiver is identical to the “home” model. I couldn’t find the more commonly available “home” version for less than $399 — saving you at least $39. I’ve had a Denon receiver (similar in specs to this one) for 24 years — it still works great.
