OneCall has the Marantz SR5004 7.1-channel black home theater receiver (factory renewed) for $399.77 with free shipping and handling. That’s $100 better than the best price available for a new, factory-sealed unit. This model got a nice review from Tom’s Guide, and Marantz receivers have an excellent reputation for outstanding audio quality.

This weekend, OneCall has the Marantz SR5004 home theater receiver for $489.77 with free shipping and handling. That’s a drop of another $10 since I last mentioned this product a week ago. This price is for a NEW (not refurbished) unit, and is the best price I’ve seen by $360. OneCall has had refurbished units of this same model for $449.97 for a few weeks, but at just $50 more, it’s hard to beat this deal on a new unit. This model got a nice review from Tom’s Guide, and Marantz receivers have an excellent reputation for outstanding audio quality.

Amazon.com has the Yamaha RX-V1065BL 7.2-Channel Digital Home Theater Receiver (Black) for $399.90 with free shipping and handling. That’s a drop of almost $150 since my last mention of this product (on June 9) and the best price available by at least $100. This model received 5/5 stars and an excellent review from What Hi Fi?

J&R Music World has the Denon AVR-990 Multi-Zone 7.1 Channel Home Theater Receiver for $699 with free shipping and handling. That’s the lowest price available by at least $100, and over 45% off MSRP. As noted in the article by cnet, the AVR-990 is functionally equivalent to the AVR-3310CI (the CI designating that it is nominally designed for “custom installations”). The review from digitaltrends also indicates that this model is essentially the same as the AVR-3310CI (which is currently selling for $800+ elsewhere).

Amazon.com has the Pioneer VSX-1020-K Audio/Video Receiver
in stock for $429.99 with free shipping and handling. You also get a Pioneer AS-BT100 Bluetooth Adapter for free (normally $89+) (simply add it to the cart with the receiver). Although the receiver is $10 higher than my last mention of this product earlier in the month, that deal did not include the bluetooth adapter. This model replaces the very popular and highly rated Pioneer VSX-1019AH-K 7-Channel A/V Receiver (Black) , (see the cnet review of the 1019 here). It adds an ethernet port for streaming internet radio and has a very comprehensive graphical user interface. Check out the cnet editor’s first take and audioholics first look for more information. Pioneer is really hitting this segment of the market hard, and pushing more and more features into its receivers.

Vann’s has the Sony STR-DA4400ES ES 7.1 Channel AV Receiver for $549.88 with free shipping and handling. That matches a price available direct from Sony in March (before it sold out) (note: you can also buy from Vann’s through Amazon if you prefer with this link: Sony STR-DA4400ES 7.1 Channel AV Receiver). The only criticism in the review from Electronics Made Easy related to the price – which is largely dealt with when discounted to this extent. Although this model has been discontinued, it will handle almost everything you throw at it (though not 3D). Sony’s ES models are their high end components, meant to compete with Denon, Onkyo, Marantz, etc.

Amazon has the very popular and highly rated Pioneer VSX-1019AH-K 7-Channel A/V Receiver (Black) for $379 with free shipping and handling. See the review from cnet for more information on this model, which received an “Editor’s Choice” designation and was named as their top pick in the mid-range receiver category. This model has been superseded by the Pioneer VSX-1020-K Audio/Video Receiver, currently selling for $500+ (though it adds some features, including network streaming).

Amazon has the Onkyo TX-SR707 THX Select2 Plus Home Theater Receiver for $426.89 with free shipping and handling. That’s a drop of over $20 since my last mention of this model a little over a week ago, and the best price available anywhere for this popular receiver. Check out the review at electronicsme.com for more information on this model. If you don’t need the network functionality or 3D handling capability of the higher end models, this is an excellent unit.

OneCall (via Amazon) has the Onkyo HT-RC180 7.2-Channel A/V Surround Home Network Receiver (Black) for $499.77 with free shipping and handling. That’s more than $500 below MSRP and a drop of $20 since July 5. It’s particularly noteworthy because this receiver is ethernet network capable – meaning it integrates with the rest of your home network and provides access to source material on your PC or via internet radio (i.e., Pandora). This model has received very good reviews from home theater gears, digital trends, and the Audiophiliac blog. One of the few knocks against it is that it lacks multi-channel analog inputs. But at this price, it’s a great opportunity to get a network ready receiver from a highly regarded company.

Electronics-Expo has the Yamaha RX-V1900 7.1 Channel Home Theater Receiver for $652.21 plus $29.99 shipping and handling (with coupon “CHEAPUNCLE”). Even with shipping, that’s the best price available anywhere by close to $175, and well under the $1,000+ being charged by most retailers (it’s $19 less than a similar deal posted at the end of May). You can check out the detailed specs on the Yamaha website. This model received excellent reviews from What Hi Fi? and Electronics Made Easy.

Newegg.com has the ONKYO 7.2-Channel Black Home Theater Receiver TX-NR807 for $599.99 plus $9.99 shipping and handling (with coupon “RECEIVER76A”) (expires 6/23). That’s at least $80 better than the next lowest price I could find, and $50 lower than my last mention of this product at the end of June.

Electronics-Expo has the Denon AVR-1911 630-watt 7.1-Channel Multi-Zone Home Theater Receiver for $426.89 with free shipping and handling (after coupon “LS0735″). That’s the lowest price available on this newly released model by at least $169. Although this model has yet to be reviewed, I suspect sound quality will be on par with its highly regarded predecessor (the AVR-1910). The AVR-1910 received a 5-star review from What Hi Fi? and was very well liked in a review by Big Picture Big Sound. The review from Cnet was somewhat less enthusiastic.

UPDATE: As noted in the comment below, Marantz has lowered the MSRP on this model to $399.
OneCall (via Amazon) has the Marantz NR1501 7.1-channel black home theater receiver for $399 with free shipping and handling. That’s matches a deal from late May, and is the best price for a new, sealed-box unit from a reputable retailer by almost $200. Marantz has a great reputation for building quality audio electronics, and this unit received a nice review from Audioholics. This model has a slimmer form factor than other Marantz products (which somewhat limits the number of connections available on the back), taking up far lack rack space.

As its daily deal for 7/6, Amazon has the Klipsch CS-500 2.1 Home Theater System with DVD Player for $199.99 with free shipping and handling. That’s a drop of $100 from the sale price Amazon has been running for the last month, and $800 below MSRP. I was on the fence about whether to post this product when it was $300, but at $200 it’s a pretty good bargain. Some of the reviews at Amazon complained of problems with the DVD portion of the unit, but Klipsch (as of late May 2010) (in the comments to the reviews) has indicated that it has upgraded the DVD mechanism to address such issues (including all units in stock at Amazon).

Electronics-Expo has the Yamaha RX-V765BL 665 Watt 7-Channel Home Theater Receiver for $351.27 plus $29.99 shipping and handling (after coupon code “EDEALINFO”). Even with shipping, that’s the best price available by almost $20. This model was praised in a review by Home Theater Review and earned 4 stars from What Hi Fi?

OneCall.com has the Denon AVR-2310CI 7.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver to $488.98 with free shipping and handling. That’s a drop of $40+ since my last mention of this product in early May (other sellers through Amazon have dropped the priced as well). You can check out the detailed specs on the Denon website. This model got a 5-star review from What Hi Fi?, which called it “a superb machine for the money.” There’s a more detailed (but equally effusive) review at Trusted Reviews, which concluded:
As you can probably tell, we absolutely love this receiver. And with good reason – it’s packed with features, easy to use and delivers a sensational performance with movies and music, all of which makes that seemingly high price tag suddenly look pretty reasonable.

Amazon has the Marantz SR7002 Surround Receiver for $599 with free shipping and handling. That’s 50% off MSRP, a drop of $100 since yesterday, and the best price available by at least $300 (most reputable retailers are charging $950+, with many still selling for close to $1,400). This prior generation model, while not positioned at the top of the Marantz line, still earned an excellent review from Secrets of Home Theater and High Fidelity. Like other Marantz products, it gets high marks for sound quality. Detailed specifications can be found at the Marantz website.

OneCall.com still has the Denon S-5BD Integrated Home Theater Receiver/Blu Ray Player with the Klipsch HD 1000 5.1 Speaker Sysem for a combined $1,899 with free shipping and handling. The Denon unit alone sells for close to $1,800, and the speakers can’t be found for less than $500. So it’s like getting the speakers for $100 or the Denon for $1,300 — either way its a great deal for a slick new piece of equipment. Check out the first impression from audioholics for more on this newly released Denon model.

Newegg has the Klipsch HD 500 5.1 High Definition Theater system for $599.99 with free shipping and handling. Adding coupon code “FREEGFT71A” (expires 7/7) adds an ONKYO 7.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver TX-SR508 for “free”. I couldn’t find this combination elsewhere for less than $858 (The speakers are going for at least $549, and the receiver is going for a minimum of $309). This would make a nice starter system for someone getting their first surround system. You check check out the cnet reviews of the speakers and the Onkyo website for information on the receiver (it’s too new to have been fully reviewed – though Onkyo has a good reputation for building high quality receivers).

J&R Music World has the Yamaha RX-V2065BL 7.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver for $699.99 with free shipping and handling. That’s 46% off MSRP and the lowest price available by $50. AudioAdvisor and Spearit Sound (both via Amazon) still have the Cambridge Audio Azur 340R 5.1 HDMI AV Receiver in Black or Silver for $499 with free shipping and handling. That’s $180 below MSRP and $100 below any other vendor. You can elect to purchase from either AudioAdvisor or Spearit Sound (it appears the default is AudioAdvisor). Cambridge Audio is generally well respected for the quality of its electronics (particularly its amplifiers). This is their entry-level 5.1 surround receiver. This model earned 4-stars (out of 5) from both What Hi Fi? and TechRadar. Both reviews note this receiver as being exceptionally “musical”.

Spearit Sound (via Amazon) still has the NAD T 737 A.V Surround Sound Receiver for $499.99 with free shipping and handling (Amazon shows AudioAdvisor as the “default” seller – you’ll need to select Spearit Sound as the seller to see the lower price). It’s lowest price available by $100 (it even beats the after coupon price at World Wide Stereo). There’s more information on this model at NAD’s web site.

Electronics-Expo has the Yamaha RX-V3900 7.1-Channel Network Home Theater Receiver for $1,109.99 plus $29.99 shipping and handling (with coupon “LSDA0624″) (expires 7/11). Even with shipping, that’s the best price available by close to $300, and significantly below the $1,799 being charged by most reputable retailers. It’s a drop of $25 since my last mention of this product two weeks ago. This is near the top of Yamaha’s line of AV receivers, and is generally regarding as providing excellent quality for the price (even at MSRP). Check out the positive reviews from AVguide, Sound+Vision, and Home Theater Magazine for more information on this model.

Spearit Sound (via Amazon) has the NAD Viso Five DVD/CD Surround Sound Reciever (refurbished) for $1,149 with free shipping and handling. That’s $650 below the lowest price available for a new, sealed-box unit. It carries a one-year manufacturer’s warranty. While this unit lacks a blu-ray player, it has received excellent marks for both video and sound quality. Check out the 5-star review from What Hi Fi? and the excellent review by audio ideas guide.

Spearit Sound (via Amazon) has the NAD Viso Two Stereo DVD/CD Receiver (refurbished) for $899 with free shipping and handling. That’s $400 below the price for a new, sealed-box unit. The Viso Two is a combination stereo receiver and cd/dvd player (similar to the Viso Five, but without surround sound). This model received a 5-star review from What Hi Fi? You can read more about it (and find specifications and additional images) at the NAD website.
